    Samsung Galaxy S II

Hoping to get my new Android Phone tomorrow.
But I won't get to see it until Thursday at the earliest.

I'm thinking of getting this one too - let us know how it works out!

I looked at it, Frau D has the previous one which is quite good, to replace my HTC Desire which went titsup at the weekend. Instead I ordered the LG Optimus P990 which arrived today (except I won't get it until Thursday.)
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

I will try and let you know as soon as I can. It's to replace my HTC Desire. Nowt wrong with the Desire, apart from the lack of internal storage and the crap battery life. So I will let you know the outcome as soon as I can. All I have to do is figure out how to migrate the apps across.

Use MyBackup pro. Create a backup on the SD card and then put the SD card on your new phone install Mybackup pro and restore the other programs.

Don't bet on your battery live being better my Samsung Galaxy S has a worse life compared to the HTC Hero I had before.

Thanks for the tip. I had MyBackup Pro already installed and had backed up the apps before. I have done another one now. Hoping the phone will arrive today. Am a tad bit excited... and it's only a bliming phone!

Got the phone. A bit disappointed in that I was hoping for 16GB of internal storage. Instead, you get 2GB of Internal Storage with the rest being on USB Storage (Which is 11.5GB - have no idea where the other 2GB is!). I have a MicroSD card installed, which is 32GB, so can't really complain. However, it would have been nice to have the 16GB assigned to internal memory, so that I can install plenty of applications on there, rather than having to to rely on moving to SD Card, etc. Haven't fully played with the phone (i.e. haven't made or received any calls), but it seems to be a bit better than the HTC Desire. It's thinner and, obviously, lighter. I now need to get a case for the phone (which I forgot to order. D'oh!!!).

Will try and provide some more feedback a bit later.

It's reserved for GPS tracking information of yourself?

The default volume for the ringtone was a maximum. Can be slightly embarassing when it rings. Call quality is clear too.

My main gripe with Android when I sync with my Exchange Account, it doesn't sync all the folders. Don't know if anyone else is having that problem or not.

Hows the phone now after a few weeks?

I have one due to arrive today.

Can you explain about the memory please as I have ordered a 16Gb MicroSD card to go in it. Is the memory slot already occupied?

Edit. My wife and I spent a large amount of time last night fiddling with our new phones, getting a USB connection is a nightmare (CDC Serial driver? Anyone?), Kies is quite clever but not intuitive, no addresses in the contacts, not sure if I am missing something. Like the unit but so far not really enjoying it. Early days I know.

As OP said the memory is configured peculiarly, System, USB and SD sections.

Edit 2 Addresses are only shown if an address has been entered against a contact.

Edit 3 Its growing on me, as find I find ways to do the tasks I want to.

                    Anyone else got one recently?
