What is the likelihood that I will be given an SC Clearance?

<attempt by OP to rewrite history not realising that once you've been quoted it's too late>.

I am Japanese pothead. What is the likelihood that I will be given an SC Clearance?

We don't know. Read the sticky about SC clearance. You'll see the same thing said time and time again. Be honest, apply ans just see what happens. Nothing else you can do about it.

I read the sticky and used the search function, nothing about Japanese citizenship and only 1 post about "Cannabis" that wasn't really relevant, hence this post.

How many more times... We started the sticky to kill off answering the same damned questions time after time.

There are people with serious convictions with SC clearance. All you can do is answer the questions honestly. The investigators already know the "right" answers (and have a good handle on your openness to blackmail or coertion). They are not testing what those answers are, only that you are answering honestly.

Right, because CLEARLY my question was solely based on convictions and not also about nationality... Ah well **** it I tried, I knew I'd get the same canned response of "ZOMG did you not read the ******* obvious sticky full of obvious common ******* sense!?!??!"
Perhaps don't answer the thread if you want to encourage "killing off answering the same questions time after time", it will save us both time.

Actually I wrote most of the original content in that sticky and spent years trying to get the Cabinet Office to sort out the whole process so that it actually works, so don't presume to lecture me on what is and isn't relevant. Parental nationality can be a factor in some cases but I don't believe Japan is one of the riskier ones. (As an illustration the guy that wrote the code that underpins the MOD's secure, encrypted routers is a Ukrainian whose parents were both in the KGB. He's got clearance...)

Anyway the simple answer has now been given twice at least. Answer the questions honestly and see what happens. Apart from nobody wanting to discuss the clearance criteria in a public forum, you can't do anything to influence the decision anyway so that is all anyone can say about your chances.

So sorry if we don't/won't/can't answer your specific question, but that's reality for you. And you really need to work on your attitude, you're not impressing anyone.

Maybe not but I started it

Look at the last page. There is a question just like yours and the answers are exactly the same for starters. It's riddled with the same question and same answers.

You are suppose to answer "Yes" or "No".
