Umbrella company won't pay. What can we do

Please note- It is the agency who won't pay not the umbrella company.

Hi all, hoping someone would be able to help out or offer some advice.

Offered 12 weeks of work from a company via agency.

Worked 2 weeks without payment, was paid on the 3rd week, end of the 4th week the work was stopped for complications beyond our control.

The agency said they would try find work in the meantime, they haven't, they won't answer phone calls or return calls. When they do it's brushed off and hung up on.

So I'm due payment tomorrow, having not had a pay slip come through I've called to be told I won't be being paid at all. I'm currently owed 3weeks of wages, which they are with holding.
I have a singed contract for the 12weeks of work.

I have a family to feed, bills and other expenses as you can imagine, what can I do?

Irrelevant question now with an umbrella.

How many days did you actually work for that have been unpaid? In all probability your contract will mean you don't get paid for days you didn't work. Don't wait for the agency, you're not an agency employee, find a new job.

Look for a permanent job. Contracting involves risk.

I do hope you get paid though.
