Cold Calls about the New Dividend Tax Change?

I'm getting cold calls from companies posing as agents saying that they can save the amount of Tax I pay on my dividends ?
Its sounds like a scam but wanted to ask if anyone has used one of these Dividend Tax savers?
If so how dose it work?

        Read the HMRC schemes board.

As that's how it will end up in 10 years.

If you are 60 plus and your elderly blood relations relations all died before they were 70 take the risk.

          Approach with caution

The new dividend tax is what it is. The only real solution to minimise it is to claim as many (legal / allowable) expenses as you can to reduce your taxable profits. You could also look into paying into a pension through your business to reduce profits.

Another way to minimise it is to earn less.

Contractors spend a lot of time worrying about how to maximise their earnings. Tax efficiency is one way - another is to get yourself in a position where you can charge more.

I can do this for you. Engage my company to provide advice on avoiding the dividend tax. Pay us all your profit above £21K. Pay £4K in corporation tax. Pay the rest in dividends. No dividend tax for you at all.

It may not seem like a great deal now, but it is cheaper than paying tax, interest, and penalties to HMRC later, plus the loss of earnings while a guest of Her Majesty, which is where these wonderful companies would take you.

Alternatively, make me, my wife, my kids, and their spouses equal shareholders with yourself. If dividends are distributed equally among us all, again, this should keep you under the £17K dividend tax threshold. We'll even throw in some entertainment, take you to dinner once a month or something. Be our guest now, or the Queen's guest later.

One final alternative -- you could just pay the dividend tax. It's not actually that much.

It's the same old "take home 90%" crowd, just with a different spin put on it.

Had an email from my accountant yesterday warning that their were scam emails going around about tax irregularities. Haven't seen one yet, but I guess the scammers are relying on FUD.
