When your agency sends your contract is it usually signed?

Just wondering what you guys experience is with contracts being signed..should the contract be signed prior to you signing it? As it could be changed without you knowing and they haven't signed it and you have...thoughts?

No, it's never signed by them. They get you to sign, then they will sign at the last minute.

The point is that once you have signed, you have agreed to what they have put down. Once they sign, they send you the document with both sets of signatures on it.

    Perfectly normal.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

It's up to you to keep a copy of the contract.

Its always blank this is so the agency can back out at the last possible moment if they find a preferred candidate! (someone who will work for way less than you basically!!).

I seem to remember someone (maybe SueEllen) posting to say that if the agency sent you a contract with everything but their signature then it has the same validity as the intention for an agreement was there.

Hopefully, some will be along in a bit to explain better.

they send contract, you accept/amend then sign, they sign to accept amendments

            same with any contract

Except for sometimes when it is. I've had a couple with a signature on it.

I don't think it matters at all who signs first.

Mine have always been signed by the agency when I've received it. If there are any changes I want made, I notify them, they make the changes and send me another one signed by them.

Nope, never had any agency or work contract pre-signed. It's like they want you to commit before they do. Seem fairly typical, though.
