    Vivid Resourcing

Has anyone here ever got a job through Vivid Resourcing?

Over the past three years or so since I've been back as as contractor, I've been approached by them over 50 times with vacancies - it's almost always them approaching me rather than me replying to an advertised job. Each has been a pretty good match for my skill set, so it's not total random spam. However, in that time I've not had one single interview through them.

My most recent encounter with them has been typical - an interesting sounding job pretty close to where I live - but it's followed the same old sequence
V: "Hello, I've got this great job, are you interested?"
    Me: "Sure, put me forward"
    3 days silence ...
Me: "What's going on with this role you put me forward for?"
V: "They really like your CV but the hiring manager is off sick - they'll be in touch in a few days to arrange an interview"
    3 days silence ...
Me: "Still waiting to hear back regarding this role"
V: "They still like your CV, but they're being very slow to arrange an interview"
    etc etc ...

No doubt they'll be in touch again in a couple of weeks time with another role.

I don't understand that they hope to achieve by this - it's not as though they're fishing for leads with the "I just need to get 2 references" line.

Never had a role through them, but have had calls and the email approaches with roles which (supposedly) 'are a good match'...which sometimes makes me think they must have a vivid imagination as they are hopelessly wide of the mark. From what you describe though, they seem no better/worse than any other agency wrt call backs and providing bull5hit type information.
    Clarity is everything

It doesn't matter what they hope to achieve. This is how you should manage it.....

Go and do something else until they call back. If they have even a sniff of a chance they will be on you like a rash. Don't waste your time calling them. Chill. Live longer.

If you are that fed up with them, call and tell them to remove your details, won't stop them trawling the jobsites and picking you up again though.

        +1 to WTS

You won't be getting interviews because you are only a pretty good match. If they are putting the gigs up on their site or jobserve they will be getting a load of perfect matches.

          Same stuff here!

Instead of me calling them, they call me once every 3 days (client off sick etc etc). And then back to business:
Has anything changed at your end?
have you got any interviews lined up? etc..etc..

          No real roles...to be honest...

They're the bunch who always seem to advertise rolls with amazing rates (and by that I mean way above market average) that are always a perfect match for my skill set.. nothing ever comes of it of course and they won't say who the client is before putting me forward...

Bunch of timewasters, no idea what they hope to achieve. Now I just hang up as soon as they say who they are.

What's happened to Oxford International? They used to call like clockwork, but it always felt like actually they were ringing just for a chat.

OI: We have a role doing <incredibly niche skill> in <obscure foreign city with no airport>. Are you interested?
              Me: Uhm, no.
              OI: So. How've you been?

Most peculiar. I used to wonder if they were involved in some sort of market research rather than recruitment.

I think they're still going, I still get the monthly call from somebody from Ox Corp (presuming they're the same): "Hey you match our skill set, fancy a six week contract in South Sudan?"

"Isn't there rampant corruption and a civil war?"

                "Yeah, but how are you?"

I have the same with Nigel Frank. Get a call at least once per week, but often more.
They always have "perfectly matching" roles for me and want to exclusively represent me at virtually any company in the UK and outside that uses Microsoft Dynamics. (for which I never give them permission)
This is going on for almost 2 years now and I programmed there caller id's to go straight to voicemail

Feb 2016 - They are a COMPLETE SHAMBLES!

                    Briefly

During the period of Dec 2011 to May 2012, I was employed on contract via Vivid Resourcing, but was paid by as well-known and respected umbrella company under their Umbrella scheme - I still know that my reference number for that scheme. After that period on the umbrella scheme, I heard little or nothing more about the finances of that period of employment - until Friday of last week!

That day, I received two (with two more EVERY following day!) requests from a website called ecosign.com to sign a declaration that VAT invoices had been raised for the period in question to the effect that "the services provided by John XXXX have raised VAT invoices in respect of all the transactions listed and has been VAT registered during the entire period" - and that is followed by a list showing "Breakdown of payments during the period" for a "Worker No XXXXX/YYYY".

Now, the VAT Number quoted on the letter to be signed is was/is nothing to do with me - I think it is that for the umbrella company. Therefore I can't sign the letter because the whole matter was effectively outside my control. I contacted the umbrella company over the weekend and got confirmation of that today,

However, in the meantime, on Saturday, I sent an email to Vivid (to my ex-contract person, and to their contractor payroll department), telling them all this and to stop chasing me for a signature that was/is nothing to do with me!

Since then I have had 7 - YES, SEVEN, including one this afternoon - further automated chasing emails to get me to sign the letter - this is in spite of me phoning them yesterday afternoon and telling their "HMRC VAT Project Team" "IN NO UNCERTAIN TERMS" to take the matter up with the Umbrella company and stop chasing me, and especially sending me these emails!

To add insult to injury, I got the same thing in the post this morning!
