Absolutely. Anybody who reads Slashdot knows how easy it is for unfounded rumours and allegations to start getting thrown around all over the web the moment some 14-year-old who thinks the GNU-PL will save the world gets a bee in his bonnet (they're always male). IMNSHO you are not only entitled, but compelled to defend yourself against the kind of garbage that was being spouted.
After all, Google indexes this place very regularly, and the last thing you want is for somebody researching SKA to come across a thread containing such accusations without your denials. In fact it's a good job the admins deleted the whole shebang, given the number of dimwits who tend towards the "no smoke without fire" school of irrational judgement.
