Evening all

I've been left in charge of three small (and not so small) children tonight, and surprisingly the damage has been limited. We do have a rather large hole in the upstairs ceiling, but I'm told by the finance committee that we're having a loft conversion. So that'll explain the new set of stairs leading into the loft that had appeared when I returned home today.

We had a loft conversion 18 months ago. JUst as well we had a/c fitted as it gets jolly hot up there.

I was bathging kids while it was being built - heard builder hoovering before going home. Was just about to send kids to bedroom when there was terrific crash - hoover through old loft hatch into hall where kids would be going in 10 seconds. Dale the builder pokes head through and shouts "I think your loft hatch has had it"!!!

Yeah, it gets pretty warm up there, especially over the last couple of days. We haven't gone for a/c but each room has a "normal" window at one end and a Velux at the other, so hopefully that should help to get some air moving.

Crikey, that was a close one. We're having to keep the kids from going up there at the moment as there are loads of hazards about, like a rather mean looking nail gun that I might have a go with later

Which has put me in mind of Lethal Weapon 2. And Patsy Kensit. And that's me off to my happy place again...

Right, there's a beer in the fridge with my name on it. And it's probably time to suggest to the kids that they might like to consider going to bed soon.

Then I have an appointment with a nail gun

Later
