Hello. Just got pre warning of APN for Sanzar ye April 2011. Had no discovery notice and this is first correspondence from HMRC regarding this. May not have disclosed dotas on tax return. Have support for Edge scheme fro Saleos and registered interest for Big Group so not head in the sand. Any advice on where I stand with Sanzar given the possibility that I may not have declared dotas for that year?Comment

Also i have a question relating to penalties (sorry call me ignorant)
Does it mean that if you don't intend on settling via the Early Settlement Offer you potentially avoid the possibility of paying additional penalties over the period of how ever long this mess finally takes to settle once and for all?
Thanks!Comment

BIG GROUP - non DOTAS
There is clearly a need for something similar to BG for non DOTAS schemes.
I've explained elsewhere that at the moment, other than the usual tax services you can acquire from any competent professional, I have no settled or solid strategy for such schemes.
Some are share based, some variations on loans, some little different from DOTAS schemes, etc. The very diversity makes for problems and until I can research them properly and perhaps group them into types, I can't really consider what an effective strategy might be.
It is likely that the core principle of BG, i.e. weight of numbers, is going to be high up the wish list however.
Tomorrow (Monday 15th June), I'll set up a means by which those in non DOTAS schemes can leave some contact details and we can start by collecting data etc. There will be no charge for this. Data collected will be borrowed and returnable. No promises as to time scale would be sensible at this stage.
I'll post again once I have something a bit more concrete.Best Forum Adviser & Forum Personality of the Year 2018.
