    Thanks for this.

As Neil says, Big Group is looking for settlement of the scheme(s).

We have a couple of ideas working with HMRC and whilst there are no guarantees, at least we've not been told "see you in Court".

It works by identifying the key facts and then applying the legal and judicial principles as they are interpreted today. We are of the view that the original opinions backing up the schemes, whilst they have some important and crucial points to make, trying to defend a scheme in 2016/2017/2018 on the law as it stood in 2005/2006/2007 is going to be difficult. I'm sure other advisers may have a different opinion.

WTT offer a service for a fee.

That service varies from client to client but is normally triggered by HMRC asking you, personally, for information. That information may be about the scheme but will also include other matters.

We will quote you a fixed fee for dealing with the enquiry and any fall out for a fixed period. We do not ask for more fees in that period.

You should be aware that other tax advisers are available and you will have to ask them about their fee policy and charges.

          Received a Section 9a Letter

          Morning All,

I received a letter yesterday regarding my self assessment return year ended 5th April 2015, the want to check my return under section 9a and are asking for all sorts of information including bank statements. A little shaken up by this as I haven't saved any money to pay any outcome. I have just over 30 days to respond......

I have been reading through the posts on the forum all very helpful but I still have a feeling of dread. Any advice help appreciated

          Thanks

If this is a contractor scheme related enquiry (I assume it is due to where you have posted).

            a) If you are still in any schemes, get out ASAP. As in today.
            b) Try and contact the provider, if they still exist, they may have initial advice and maybe already dealing with similar requests.
            c) Get professional help as soon as possible and/or consider joining Big Group.

I am no longer engaged in the scheme. I called the provider this morning they advised that the year in question has been handed over to a company called Previse Limited, not very much help at all really, they did indicate that Previse have had similar requests.

I sent an email to WTT this morning and have a call out for my accountant. Would like to join the big group also, any advice on how to get signed up?

              Thanks for your reply

                Consider joining Big Group.

If you need immediate tax advice then calling WTT Consulting would be a good idea. WTT Consulting | Tax Enquiry Specialists | London I've noticed on their website they have set fees for dealing with these kinds of HMRC enquiries.

Abbey Tax is the IPSE's affiliate in tax matters. I'm sure they'd be able to help too. https://www.abbeytax.co.uk/. I don;t know how Abbey's fee structure works but well getting a quote of sorts for dealing with HMRC.

Definitely get advice, and don't sit on this.

                      Inheritance Tax for DarwinPay

Not sure if this is the correct place, but I would like to know if anyone who has been with DarwinPay has managed to get their loans written off and settled any Inheritance Tax liability if any.

                      thank you.
