I find the EDL pretty nauseating, but I think a lot of the people who've joined it are probably just rather dimwitted people who are scared of the world around them; Anonymous's actions can only make them even more scared and radical, so it's counterproductive. It's also everyone's right to keep his opinions to himself. I prefer the approach of the members of York mosque, who invited EDL protesters in for tea, biscuits and to watch a football match on the big screen and ask any questions they might have about Islam.
Except for the fact they're taught to lie to the kuffar when it suits their message, that would paint a good picture

Are they all taught that, which would be a considerable feat?

Or are you lying to suit your message?

I think he's he's interpreting the taqqiya in a way that suits his purpose. The most accepted interpretation among muslims is that muslims may hide their islamic religion when they are threatened. In this particular situation, the muslims didn't hide their islamic identity, in fact they openly showed that they are muslims when faced with quite a threatening situation. Of course, if every simple act of friendship or generosity is to be viewed with such suspicion, Muslims don't really stand a chance of saying or doing anything right.
