Default Contractor Mortgage

Any one know what the contractor mortgage market is like at the moment?

Is it still possible to get a mortgage on contract rather than audited accounts?

I'm into year 3 of contracting but my first year offset losses from another bussiness venture (as effeciently as possible) so doesn't read as well..

And I've yet to file year 2, anyone know the best route to mortgage for me, or of any good deals going, or any problems I might face?

Its a first time buy with 30% deposit..

thanks for any advice!

Try ContractorMoney, very helpful and understand contracting (hence the name I suppose )

They have different access to underwriters than the usual high street outfits.

If you can save 30% in three years, would it be possible to save 100% in another six or seven years ?

if so, do it, thats my advice. Even if it means living in a hole for six years

Contractor rates have fallen so much that you don't need a mortgage to afford one these days.

Right now I'd rent if I were you.

ContractorMoney got me a mortgage with a high street bank that refused me when I spoke to them myself. All they need in your current contract, and your CV to prove that you can get another one if you need to. I'd been back in the game less than 12 months - just left a permie job that saw me through the recession
