I got "cheap and tacky" from the word "televangelist" - they are all cynical trashy, money-making schemes, that serve only to part the gullible from their money - just go back to Jimmy Sweigert and Jim Baker's days to see the sort of money-grubbing low-lifes who engage in that sort of business. It's not limited to "christian" sects either - it happens in all sorts of different faiths - you just have to learn.

This is not BTW an attack on Christianity - just this Americanised trash that attempts to pass itself off as religion
