If each of these has an average of 25,000 miles on the clock, then the total distance they have travelled is 25 trillion miles.
Which is around 4.3 light years.
Which is the distance from earth to Alpha Centuri, the nearest star system to the Sun.

Not really to do with this thread, but I thought it was an amazing thought you might be interested in.

Surely, Surely, you would rather them add a few pence on to fuel duty than bring in the proposed IR35 changes... If they bring in both well, that's just greedy. Personally I'd rather see them add tax on to the devils fuel - derv cars offend my ears and nasal passages.

Tax that at 10p per mile and you get over £32b revenue.

In 2014-2015 fuel duty raised £27b (and another £4b in VAT).

So there you go. 10p / mile as a baseline.
And how do they collect payment?

Via new "levy" on car insurance where people declare miles they travel.

Nobody declares the miles they travel. And even if we were asked to, we'd all just lie. Wouldn't we?

Then it would mean that insurance is invalid and the person who fraudlently obtained it is a tax evader...

                    Nope you guessimate your miles.

If you are going drastically over than you get a readjustment near the time you are going drastically over.

Nope. There will be a GPS device that tells them how many miles you have covered. Easy. They might even use the one in your phone. So if you turn your phone off, that will reduce the number of deaths as well.
