    A croak too far

Looks like the speech was the last straw, men in grey suits will be visiting Ms May shortly to suggest she does the honorable thing.

Plot to oust Theresa May involves around 30 Tory MPs including Brexiteers and Remainers, ringleader Grant Shapps says | The Independent

For anybody not privileged enough to have opportunity to hear the actual speech, has it been reported anywhere?

The speech was on the front page of all the papers yesterday due to the scale of the disaster it was. The fact you didn't see if shows how few people read papers nowadays...

The actual speech was quite good. It was all the stuff that happened around it. But that's the modern world (or maybe just the UK ) nowadays.
        Shallow and stupid as fuck
        Hard Brexit now!

I have never bought a newspaper. BBC only covered the coughing and 'joker' not a mention of the actual detail.

Absolutely, the problem is the melt down of the Tory party and the unfolding Brexit car crash. I agree with the commentator in the Independent who suggested she should now put Boris in charge of the Brexit negotiations.

The speech was OK, but never enough to dig herself out of the political hole she is in.

I agree about the shallow stuff to an extent, but if it had happened to a real operator like Thatcher or Blair, they would have manged it differently. The prankster would have been battered by Thatcher's handbag or head butted by Prescott. They would have charmed their way through the cough.

We all probably know the trope about lucky and unlucky generals, but generals (and politicians) tend to make their own luck by how they respond to unexpected events, maximising the positive and minimising the negative.

I just hope May has damaged herself enough to increase the entertainment levels further, but not so much to accelerate her demise.

The P45 was well funny especially when he was escorted out claiming Boris made him do it...

I think her demise is guaranteed now.
And because cretinism has infected every level of this once blessed, now benighted, country the alternative is going to be much worse.
Or better if you wish for a hard Brexit, which I've come to the conclusion is much the best outcome, the sooner, the better.
