May makes generous offer to remain in reality for further two years
22-09-17
THE prime minister has offered to abide by the laws of reality for a further two years while details of the wonderful fantasyland awaiting Britain are negotiated.
The move is a significant change to previous policy, which had Britain departing from the real world completely in 2019 for a fabulous imaginary realm of prosperity.
In a speech in Florence, May said: “The people of Britain have chosen to live in a magical land where golden apples grow on every tree and it rains champagne, and live in that land we shall.
“But not all of our sugar-spun castles are quite completed yet and the ability to soar in the air free as a bird is still in beta-testing, so we have told reality if we remain part of it until 2021 we will continue to play by its rules.
“In return I have asked the real world to be creative and meet Britons halfway in their desire to turn anything they touch into gold, which they must be granted because they voted for it last year.”
May reiterated that in the long-term Britain will still exit the physical world entirely to exist eternally in the faerie realms, while still taking anything it wants from reality whenever it wants it.
But voter Margaret Gerving said: “She promised no compromises. She’s a bloody traitor.”Comment

What do the German newspapers think?
Ouch - Der Süddeutsche were not very kind!
"Theresa May is in a pitiful position. Like a beetle, she lies on her back and struggles desperately - but she will not be able to do it on her own. Whatever magical power in the Italian city of Florence, as a symbol of the renaissance, or a symbol of Europe's emotional cohesion, the British Prime Minister had to summon this force to release a call for help packaged with the last bit of self-esteem that remained."

What a waste of British taxpayers’ money. TM the PM flew to Florence to make her speech. The audience was her cabinet.
The key EU leaders were meeting in Paris.
How much did the flights, security, and meeting room cost in Florence?
What a waste.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Agreed - what a waste indeed. £10billion for 10 votes, £150 for an election that left her weak and without a majority government - and the EU realise this, in fact reading between lines, EU leaders now expect her to step down not before long so don't really pay much attention to her now.
Weak weak government. Should be another General election, Comrade Korbyn is needed asap."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

Face it we're never going to leave. And that delights me more than the salty taste of Brexiteer tears.Last edited by scooterscot; 22 September 2017, 22:37."Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Mark TwainComment

It's amazing that even now, so many still don't see the hopelessness of the UK's position and still cling to the illusion that we can somehow eat our cake and have it (cue the calls for 'Imaginative new thinking' )
The Brexit Mob will eventually find our that there is no 'New thinking ' on the offer. We either retain full access to the single market and accept all the obligations, or we become a third country and negotiate access which will simply not be as deep as we've got now.
BTW, I hope you all caught the phrase she used when specifying the proposed length of the transition. She said something along the lines of 'As of today it is expected the transition will last 2 years'. That was the classic piece of wiggle room, that will be used to extend it further. She could easily have something like 'Under no circumstances should this transition last more than 2 years'. The establishment have got exactly what they wanted. Breversal will be a long process of endless transitions and 'can kicking'.Comment
