Officials only challenge age of child refugees if they look over 25
Officials are only challenging the age of child migrants if they look like they are over 25, The Daily Telegraph has learned as it emerged some of those claiming to be under 18 have already been proven to be adults.
Home Office guidance states that asylum seekers should only be challenged about their age if they are found to be "significantly over 18 years of age".
Staff have been instructed that the policy should only be used with "extreme caution" and that they should only verify their age if their appearance suggests they are "at least 25 years old".Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

At 18 asylum seekers have their cases looked at again and while they may have been given leave to remain as a child then placed with foster carers if they have no family, they can be subsequently refused asylum as adults and deported. It doesn't matter if they came here as a 9 year old or 16 year old."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment
