We already did decide on the rules. The UK could veto any rule it didn't like.

The UK won't simply be able to introduce it's own regulations, because if it does all it's goods will get stuck at the border as officials check regulations are satisfied and the whole economy will go down the plug hole. The reason lorries can take goods into the EU without spending 2 days at the border is because the EU knows we satisfy all their regulations.

What the UK will end up doing is introducing EU regulation to reduce the difficulties of exporting to the EU, and then end up in long winded almost impossible negotiations with other countries whilst trying not to have to change its regulations. Currently EU regulation gets modified to harmonise with countries with which the EU does a deal.

In short, it will be a huge mess.

Apart from the fact that the UK is going to use EU rules to trade with the rest of the world anyway...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

regardless of what you believe that can never end well.
By that rationale, we should get rid of our own government.

Well duh!!! why do you think the Tory party try and hollow out the Civil Service at every chance they get...

The government hollows itself out periodically when they lose seats at elections.

That's what my 7-year old says. And the rest of Wrexit arguments are generally on the same level.
            Hard Brexit now!

              Brexit

I have been fighting the Twitter wars on this.

              Brexit voters
There are a hard core number that are racist, mostly against Muslims.
              They will not change.
              Polls are still 50/50 ish...
I think that if a second referendum was held in the Summer, after the "stupid" element are finding things more financially difficult then remain will win.
About 25% though are hard core or semi racists.

              Reason
I guess that you all know that it's a tax dodge from the EU's tax directives in 2019.
              The rest if just fluff.

              Outcome
Assume that you know the UK is stuffed if it leaves the SM.
              Good general summary here:

The FT is very good for coverage.

              Patrick Minford
              What a muppet, critique here

              Government plans
They have been following their plans since March.
Wait until German elections over and then walk out.....

Thinking that they will still have access to the single market, but not be bound by the ECJ.
              That's the current thinking.

However, thinking indicates that they are wrong on that.
International trade and constitution lawyers on Twitter seem to think that they have made a boo boo.

              Future
If they do Brexit and leave the SM then the UK is in long term decline mode.
I will go to Dublin and then onto Germany.

              Russian Job
Loads of Russian activity online on Twitter and Facebook.
Some automated and some with humans.
The UK has been subjected to a Russian, pre-Trump job.

              Good summary here

This is the bottom line and it's obvious to all except the Brexit cult.
Because that is what it is - a cult immune to reason and evidence.

Well that pretty well sums up the EU (except they're also immune to democracy, accountability and common sense).

It is obvious yes, but irrelevant to the Brexit cult head's.

                      They want the profit.
It's outsource at a country level instead of at a company service level.
                      With large profit.
