Yes, it is very nice in Nice this time of year. My Euro is going reasonably far although probably not as far as the GBP, still not too worry. Just got out of the pool from the evening swim and now for a late meal of rather nice foreign (as in French) food. Just to cheer you up, here's the view from the terrace:

    Day...

    Evening...

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

And here is the view looking back towards darmy's balcony!

sb, once again nothing useful to say which says much for the state of the UK. How's it going at the jobcenter? Not much call for ex-Catering Corps on a mobility scooter with incontinence presumably, perhaps a spot of 'Care in the Community'?

£1.40 to the euro was not that long ago. Now we're approaching parity. That's almost a 30% drop as the result of the Brexiters combined wth the EU economy now succeeding. And the Tourist blames France. Unbelievable.
from when the Euro came in until about 2006, it was always 1eur = 60p

            now it's 1eur = 92p

            that's a 50% devaluation of the pound

That's not actually true, Milan. Don't let the Brexit alt-facts infect you. The truth will set you free.

it is true because I am old enough to remember

for years the euro floated around 60p

Shall I provide you a historical graph or are you qualified enough to find it yourself ?

I know this is General, but we shouldn't really be fat shaming Shauny.

                    NorthernLady,

here's the chart of the EUR to the GBP since the beginning of the Euro:

Euro British Pound Exchange Rate (EUR GBP) - Historical Chart | MacroTrends

If you need help interpreting it do let me know.

You can clearly see up until around 2007, the EUR was always around 60p.

The Pound was devalued during the "crisis" to the 80p range to the Euro, and now it
                    is being devalued again.

You can see in the last ten years the Pound has devalued by 50% compared to the Euro.

                    Anything not clear

                    Milan.
