That's not bad, except the garden is east facing. I'd be wanting south or southwest.
...oh and I'd re-enamel the Aga to a nicer colour (apart from redecorating the house)
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

Plenty off room for parking things. Ask BP about ex wife :-)

Does it have an uneven patio out the back?
(Or at least room for one)

Already had the 5 bed country home, with 3 acres of paddock and stabling :-)

Or a seven bedroom former church & rectory in Tiverton (includes a swimming pool)

I like them both but both are in the wrong locations.

Can't afford a house half the price of this :-(

Actually that's not true. I refuse to pay the crazy money for the tulip it buys you!

                    The simple answer is no.

It's just going to annoy you that you can't afford it.

But on the bright side you could probably rebuild a contemporary version on a new plot of land for half the price.

If I was based in Lowland Scotland and maybe contracting in Edinburgh or Glasgow I'd seriously consider this place Old Harehope, just down the road from Selkirk, and set in its own Forestry Commission forest, five miles from the nearest house, six miles from the nearest town (Peebles) but only 20 miles from Edinburgh.

Mind you it may be a bit small for a family, and its cottagey style is very different to that giant bungalow-cum-school-annexe you like. So I doubt it would appeal to you.
