It's a negotiation, for God's sake, not the Ten Commandments. There is room for movement on both sides. Perhaps you should start railing at the EU side who seem determined to sit there pretending to be De Gaulle rather than trying to find an acceptable middle ground themselves.
    Are you a bit thick?
What's the point of the Customs Union if the UK can enjoy the benefits, yet is then allowed to make its own preferential trade deals (which is the point of coming out)?
The EU are hardly going to agree to that are they?
I'd have though that "having your cake and eating it" was long ago abandoned for the infantile nonsense it is.

So the negotiations are well underway and there doesn't seem to be any clear position adopted by HM government.
"A Customs Union is not like Schrodinger’s cat. Either you’re in it, or you’re not."

Essentially this position paper says "we want to leave the Customs union but , erm, can we just pretend we're in it, so it makes no difference".

There was a point when this country was renowned for its pragmatism and the quality of its diplomats and leaders.
      This is just highly embarrassing.

They are complete clowns , I have adopted a fake German accent to try and avoid the constant day to day p*ss take, but I think they know. Still not seen so much laughter a joviality in the office for a long time and that's quite an achievement in Germany
Warning unicorn meat may give you hallucinations

Brexiters do a good line in inappropriate, simplistic analogies. Is it because they're mainly not very bright and can't really analyse complex issues.?

Although that one was quite straight forward. The RoI/NI border isn't just the UK's problem, as was stated.

But the UK has caused the issue.

There isn't an issue. All this is solvable.

Make up your mind. Only issues need solutions.
