If that is so then strictly speaking using the second to mean the first is wrong.
"Try and get" sounds like American English to me.

The "HTH, BIDI" in my previous post was obviously apt.

Can't see why that would benefit you. As it stands most of the chatter on here goes so far over your head it leaves a vapour trail!!

And on top of that, you take the whole notion of pretentiousness to a new and, frankly, bizarre dimension.

I see the Dunning-Kruger effects have really crystallised. Maybe cut down on the port whilst in Portugal?

If they said "No Single Market access without Free Movement of Skilled Labour" then I'd say "Sounds fair, Single Market it is!"
It's Freedom of Movement of People for the purposes of tourism, and Freedom of Movement of Labour for the purposes of getting a job and being able to claim benefits. However, the U.K., with its sovereignty, decided not to implement the "labour" part in full. That's the UK's decision, not the EU's.

Not so much the UK as the Liberal hand wringing left of the UK under Labour.

Interesting also to note there is suddenly coming to light an issue with slave labour.

Let's see how this pans out.
