Default Why the EU love in?

Long time lurker first time poster, genuine question why are so many posters on here seemingly in love with the EU? Why do you love it so much and what do you think it is?

I've seen all the same tired arguments, leavers are sh it kicking retards that have difficulty making complicated decisions, but does sovereignty actually mean anything to you guys? Without that you don't have a country and all the rest really doesn't matter.

    Welcome to Contractor UK.
We already had sovereignty while in the EU.
We already had control of our borders while in the EU
We could already make our own laws while in the EU
We could limit freedom of movement to those with employment
Successive governments chose not to, making it easier for people like you to blame the EU for everything that is wrong with the UK.

By being in the EU, contractors who are from the UK were free to work within the whole of Europe.

It's not about "loving" the EU, it's about not hating everyone who isn't British. It's not about "loving", it's about wanting to work and travel without restrictions.
It's about not being cocooned little snowflakes who don't like anything that is beyond their limited framework or that challenges their viewpoint.

If you're waiting for a sensible answer to that question, I fear you may be waiting a very long time...

You're confusing "love with" for "preference for based on current facts", but this may be different for different people. Demographics plays a large part - younger people simply feel more "European" (generalistic) and aren't so hung up about "two world wars and one world cup".

The UK is a country, ergo by your logic it has sovereignty. Can you think of any examples where the UK did not have any sovereignty? (Please don't come back with the tired old "EU forcing laws on the UK", the UK has plenty of elected MEPs to approve laws on your behalf).

Key thing to remember with most of the vociferous remainduhrs on here is that they don't live or pay tax in the UK or they moved to the UK because they couldn't hack it in their own countries. They are also part of the top 10% if not 1%.

Their preference is based on the impact it will have on them i.e. they might not be able to move freely around europe & earn top 1% of salary. They may not be able to get a cheap migrant to clean their mercedes or other things and they object to not being able to contribute to organised crime directly. Compare this to those sad bremainers who are competing against people on minimum wage happy to live 10 to a room because after 5 years doing this they can go home & retire the rich then expat bremainers are obviously more deserving.

You see, this is the bit that makes you lot look a little bit....well, y'know, "special".

And then, of course, hilariously we had the whole "Enemies of the People" headline when that sovereignty was being used

The other posters have given good answers but I must add that one of the original reasons for joining the then Common Market was give by the then Prime Minister Ted Heath. He knew the UK was losing influence and he wanted to balance the influence of the USA by having a stronger Europe. Leaving the EU will mean less sovereignty because the USA will have far more influence over UK policy. You can look forward to trade deals being dictated by the USA including the total control of banking regulations. The UK will end up with less sovereignty than Puerto Rico.
