How much we consume, how much we waste - well that shows how greedy & selfish we are, so when you mention children, you don't care about them because we MUST consume now.

If you want to fear less for your children's future, then work out how to consume less now.
    Less posting on CUK?

Maybe we should adopt the green solution and cut the UK down to 40m inhabitants.....

Great. Start off with those who believe it is their civic duty not to pay any taxes if they believe they can legally get away with it.

Doesn't look like BOE can raise rates now. Problem is the US has a policy of "normalising" i.e. raising interest rates.
Which means the pound will plummet even further against the dollar and inflation will rise further as commodities are priced in dollars.

Or the BOE can raise interest rates regardless of the weak data.

Either way consumption - the primary driver of the UK economy - is going to fall.
Caught between a rock and a hard place.

I predict proper recession by next year or earlier - while the rest of the rich world will be growing.

But at least the EU can no longer dictate the shape of bananas.

Consumption can be a big driver in countries like the UK which typically has low savings levels and low investment levels compared to many other countries. We have one of the lowest levels of investment as a percentage of GDP of any major economy in the world.
It matters not what you innovate or invest in - if there is no one to buy the product then the whole thing falls apart.

There always has to be an end consumer to put up some dollar to buy the product.

Brexit is too good for you.

There is no Income Tax in UK Constitution!

Come to think of it - there is no UK Constitution either!

But to be fair you've been predicting this for months now.

Eventually, you'll be right. That doesn't make you a prophet.

He has correctly predicted 5 of the last 2 recessions.

Recessions come and go all the time.

8 years since the last one. Probably due one in the next couple of years anyway .... with or without BREXIT.

You say it so casually as if Brexit will have no impact on it.
