It has to be said though 30 grand of debt being written off is one hell of an incentive to vote Labour.
    I'm alright Jack

      Is that student debt?

Students never vote these days. They may whine a bit on facebook in between posting pictures of their bits.

That is true, but motivation levels might be somewhat higher if your debt is to be written off. A common comment I see from parents on various forums is "I save 60 grand in University fees if I vote Labour".

Indeed - do you really think that a policy will go through which makes x millions of people 60 grand better off?

It isn't Labour policy to write off existing debt, but Corbyn has referenced it as something he would like to address.

The Greens were effectively proposing paying people not to work last time around with some kind of living wage for all.

Yes - I would love to run for office based on the fact I would write everyone's debt off and bring back milk for every school child.

But any sane person knows it is all about the money and it does not grow on trees which is why this sort of bollocks is really just that - bollocks!

Socialists are the best at spending.
Just not so great at generating income.
Like any household - The gap between the two unfortunately always needs paying off.

Well it works in Scotland as well as every other European country, including those running a budget surplus, so it is evidently not just a pipe dream.

It just means less Students, and it will mean a lot less relatively well paid academic staff, in Germany the Universities run on shoe string budgets. It is possible, it just wouldn't as much fun being a British Academic.
