What jobs do UK workers actually do?

    An interesting insight.

Election 2017: What jobs do UK workers actually do? - BBC News

    ~30% in public sector.

And although, as we keep hearing, there is an increase is people working in the gig economy, it doesn't look such an increase when seen in relation to total employed.

Mostly non jobs keeping the NHS, benefits money shower and immigration rubber stamping departments going.

Well, don't most of us spend all day mousing around the screen, looking busy while surfing and posting at CUK? And perhaps do an hour or so serious work a day, still outperforming the longer term incumbents?

You could create a company that keeps each other busy by doing nothing.
All you need is an HR department, HSE dept, IT dept and a CEO.

Not selling the Big issue anymore.

Judges crack down on EU migrants selling The Big Issue | Daily Mail Online

Judges crack down on poor EU migrants selling The Big Issue to register as self-employed and claim benefits
Selling the magazine allows homeless people to register as self-employed
But a court has ruled that a Romanian woman who used the magazine to access tens of thousands of pounds of in-work benefits should have them stopped
By selling copies of the magazine worth £50 each week, she was able to claim £150 a week of taxpayers’ money in tax credits and housing benefit
In a key judgment, a court has said that the woman earned too little to claim her work was ‘genuine and effective’ – thus cutting off her eligibility to UK handouts
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Lots of work in the public sector is temporary and some is even on zero hours contracts.
