The global economic crisis hit before. The impressive increase in the competitiveness of wages occurring now is a result of uncertainty and weak sterling.

I'm guessing you know this but are too ashamed to discuss it, hence your obfuscation. But there's no need for shame. Turn it around and you will see that the sacrifices being made by British workers are a contemporary 'Dig for Victory!'.

With Sterling lower against the Euro, and pay rises curbed, it'll mean the UK is even more competitive relative to the sluggish French, Spanish, and Italian economies, among others, with their way higher and ever increasing unemployment rate.

If only the Leave Campaign had explicitly stated that Brexit would mean a decline in real earnings so more competitiveness, they would have won by an even bigger margin!

As opposed to a Remain campaign telling everyone that salaries will get bigger, things will get cheaper and we will all live like millionaires?

No, that's what they told the Greeks before they joined the Euro ;-)

Pay will be squeezed. Though not as much if UK had voted remain.
