You really don't understand what's going on, do you.

Nobody starts a negotiation by laying out exactly what they are going to do. That would be stupid.

However nobody starts a negotiation by leaving lots of people on your side (in theory) who are ready and willing to f*** up your negotiation. You either remove them or neutralise them.

Brexit is going to happen, that is now inevitable. Most of the Remoaners, including people in May's own party, are demanding things that simply cannot happen - unfettered access to the single market for example - in exchange for not f***ing things up at the last minute. That is a risk that has to be removed at source.

    Now do you understand?

She's not saying anything as she knows she will have to cave in the EU negotiations and come home with a really sh*te deal. The hue and cry will have died down by the next election.

The EU's position is quite clear. No trade talks until the bill is paid and status of citizens is understood and agreed.

Got to say, the EU's negotiation strategy is quite clear. Clearly they have a plan.
London : 'we're holding a referendum to leave the Eureopean union
    EU: 'OK'
Scotland: 'we're holding a referendum to leave the UK union'

Telling that most of those bitching about the UK's strategy are either not from here, or not living here.

Which is quite different to a divorce settlement where money and future relationship/custody is agreed AT THE SAME time.

I have no issue with preliminary discussions on finance and then discuss future relations. But the delay must be minimised before future relativism are discussed. But everything gets agreed at the end, not sequentially.

Holding a general election = Mahusiv delay

There was nothing stopping the Tories proceeding but for their own infighting. No more blaming the EU.

How does a GE stop remoaners in her own party? Unless they don't run again or lose their seats?
