My own personal view is that we are doing something that will at best reduce the trade with our biggest trading partner which cant have anything but a negative outcome but I am prepared wait and see, relocating at this stage although understandable is a bit premature.

If it turns out to be minimal damage then it will be more luck than anything else, if it turns out to be the biggest mistake we have made in the history of British politics then we will need to hold those responsible to account.
Of course 48% voted for something when they knew exactly what was going to happen. Its not like the EU has ever lied or been duplicitous.

The EU army was denied as were a number of other things. Strangely after the vote they turned out to be true.

Whilst the EU is a large trading Bloc it was also on the way to become a federal superstate. We wanted out.

      When has this ever happened?

The Government will claim they acted according to the voters wishes (nevermind the referendum was advisory and no one explained the consequences to the voters beforehand). Then they will do what they have been doing for the last couple of decades - blame it on the EU... Then they will sell some book/memoirs deals, hop on board of corporation who's interests they protected all this time in power and go lecturing in some Uni how it's done.

this is actually the great thing about the referendum, the government will not be held accountable since it was the wish of the people

I know it's childish and banana republic behaviour, and not the behaviour people would expect from a country with such a history, but nevertheless it is what it is and this is what will happen

in the end the MP's win, they get to work on this for the next ten years and then retire on full pension abroad, what's not to like ?

        Milan.

There is nothing to stop us going back in again, change of government and a different political perspective may provide a background that will allow UK to be part of the EU again, at least in some form, maybe just like Norway. Depends on the degree of damage if any.

European Parliament backs plans to create a defence union | The Independent

The European Parliament has backed plans to create a defence union which will secure structured cooperation between nations as well as a new EU military operational headquarters.

Lawmakers at the European Parliament voted 369-255 in favour of the proposals, which also calls for greater spending by nations on defence.
but obviously its not an EU Army

the people of Europe have no chance today, tomorrow, or, into the future, without coming together, uniting, under one voice for foreign policy, army, trade, etc etc etc

as long as the European countries are not under one voice, they are weak compared to the other major powers, and the European countries alone cannot challenge the major world powers

hence, gentlemen, if you don't allow Europe to do the needful and become what it needs to be, for sure your children will

the longer you delay the required inevitable future situation, the harder you make it for the next generations

                    yes obviously not

                    From your link:

But, contrary to reports, it will not propose an EU army. “There is absolutely no plan to set up an EU army with the global strategy,” a spokeswoman for Mogherini said.

That would have been doable before they started admitting the ex-communist countries and the mass migration began.

Most Brits only want to speak English. So they can't take advantage of freedom of movement realistically. Unless you want to be isolated in some pretty German enclave to make a few quid .. Unable to communicate. Learning a new language as a busy 35 year old is very hard.
