So MSPs have voted in favour of negotiations with Westminster for a second referendum. The SNP are playing a clever game and leading May into a Catalonia style trap. What if the Scottish government goes ahead and organises its own referendum in defiance of Westminster and the constitutional position? How does May respond?

Ignores them. They get far more seats in Parliament than they should anyway the self-entitled winkers.

Today we saw democracy in action. Congratulations to the Greens and the SNP for making Independence that little bit closer.

Your point is well made. Imagine the uproar around the world if Mayhem ignored a 60%+ vote for independence, even if it was only advisory, as was Brexit which is not acted upon.

Ignoring is probably a better response than Spanish style injunctions and trials. But it becomes difficult he the Scottish parliament holds a referendum and declare independence. These events can get an unexpected momentum.

He added: "We are not entering into negotiations on whether there should be another independence referendum during the Brexit process. We don't have a crystal ball as to how long that process will take. We don't recognise, for example, 18 months as being a key point in the journey.
"It will be a journey that will involve the negotiations with the EU, it may be a journey that involves transitional measures, it may be a journey that involves significant implementation time."
So there you have it. Everybody settle in because we've got a few good years of arguing about Brexit yet. I guess Scotland will get a referendum somewhere around the middle.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

                      Absolutely this.

If I were a Scot, I'd want to see what the post-Brexit UK looked like before I voted on leaving or not.
