What's race got to do with it? Such a racist.

There you have it. People can't have different opinions without considering their race.

You were the one that was whining on that the only reason you lost the last referendum was down to the number of english people that had moved to Scotland and opted to stay as part of the UK.

Yes, you were when you made that claim, and there has been scant little sign that your overzealous xenophobic tendencies have dissipated in the meantime.

Those aren't the facts and you have been told more than once that we don't have a presidential type system therefore the only people who can select a party leader are party members. If you wish to elect the leaders of each UK political party then join the parties.

Oh and I had sympathy for you but due to your consistent idiotic posts on the British constitution its gone.

You just made that up. I know you did because I never use that language.

Sympathy is next door to pity. Pity the shambles we're in, not the players without a voice.

As have said at least once before, I have sympathy with the Scottish desire for more self determination but not sure that is going to be helped by leaving a union in which they have significant influence and trying to join one in which they will have almost none. The Euro rules will force them to abandon the socialist agenda they seem to believe in. Their GDP is below that of Denmark but debts are far higher. Their future in the EU, if they manage it, will be of Greece-.

Sturgeon has said in the past that voters were not fully informed on consequences of Brexit. Ok, so surely it would make sense to see what Brexit brings before seeking this breakup in the UK? Then the Scots could see more clearly what the alternatives are.

Naturally, she does not want to do that. If Brexit is not the disaster some say it will be, that could scupper her chances. She would rather put the whole negotiation at risk at immense cost to all of us.

Like so many politicians, Sturgeon is an egocentric zealot, pursuing her aims without proper thought to the consequences. There is little evidence she actually gives a damn about the Scottish people.

Why not let them decide that?

You don't force someones hand by chopping off theirs.

The choices for Scotland will be fewer post Brexit.

There'd be many advantages leaving Scotland to maintain EU membership since we've already got it via the UK.

Everything I've seen reported in the newspapers, left and right, suggests it can't work like that. The UK is the member, if the UK leaves the EU, Scotland will not stay in by becoming independent. You have to reapply as an independent country and, again, the newspaper reports suggest that will not be easy.

Newspaper reports suggest brexit will be an unmitigated success, newspaper reports suggest it will be an unmitigated disaster, newspaper reports the self employed are stealing money from the NHS, newspaper reports suggest the budget deficit is caused by immigration and Theresa May would reduce it to 10s of thousands. Newspaper reports suggest that only a vote for the tories in 2015 would eliminate the budget deficit by 2020, newspaper reports suggest that there is a B52 bomber on the moon, flown there by Elvis. Newspapers follow their own agenda and give their readers what their readers want. 95% of it is utter tulipe.
