I work from home and would still take time off.

Nah. Just drink shed loads of alcohol, you never get sick then.

It may do, but once you've started sneezing everywhere the risk of spreading the virus increases significantly.

A cold is no excuse not to work but I'd certainly not go and work on-site with a cold and my clients wouldn't expect me to either.

I would - F*** 'em, they get sick pay, but as a contractor I don't.

In any case, some permie skivers probably welcome an excuse to throw a few genuine sickies, and they will probably catch much the same cold off someone else. Also, a cold primes the immune system, so you're actually doing them a favour!

If you mean by flu a cold, that's not a reason to stay off work. You can sneeze and cough all over your clients with a "clean conscience".
If you had flu flu you wouldn't be able to get out of your house you would feel so tulip.

If you had a very heavy cold then you would be able to go to ClientCo if within a reasonable distance, but you would feel terrible and probably fall asleep by the afternoon.

I always have a cold or what looks like a cold around 7 months of the year.

The only people in the office I've ever infected were French and it wasn't with a virus...

I've done it , I'm not proud but it was my first contract and it was a good rate and it was a relatively mild dose of flu, but it was flu, and no-one noticed, and God did I feel sh*te , I wouldn't do it again
                      I'm alright Jack
