The forecasts of recession are looking good gone. Latest forecasts suggest gdp growth slightly lower than otherwise would have been expected. No dip in gdp itself, just slightly lower growth. A price well worth paying.
I do wish people (in general, not you personally) would stop obsessing about GDP, and treating it as the be all and end all.

Including government spending in a measure of national economic performance, as GDP does, practically guarantees all kinds of perverse incentives and malign malipulations by governments, such as encouraging ever higher taxes and more government spending, and welcoming unhindered immigration solely for the same purpose.

Positive GDP doesn't always measure healthy growth - As often as not these days it just indicates feverish swelling!

              What absolute bollox.

Claiming gdp forecasts for this year have been cut 75% when everyone such as the OBR, imf and boe has just raised them yet again.

Can a Remnant find a truthful article anywhere?

It is certainly an inevitable consequence of their own stupidity, but to what end? It will neither teach them, nor prevent them from breeding.

I agree with you on this. Post referendum QE and drop in interest rates to 0.25% + excessive borrowing is stoking a consumer boom.
A GDP rise due to consumerism as opposed to exports or investment is unsustainable.
