How many days did you bill for in 2016? (not for permies/pretend contractors)

Just calculated mine at 251.5 days

(No idea why in January I billed a ClientCo for half a day, amateur mistake , it should have been a full day.)

220, and I took two months holidays. I worked a few weekends due to a release and that has got me into the right ballpark. Quite happy with that.

      Contract 1: 139.25 days - 63%
      Contract 2: 42.5 days - 19%
      Contract 3: 30 days - 18%
      Total: 221.75

I also took about 15 days for research in machine learning (some of which I might get paid for if the client wants to use it) and training. The rest I took as holiday - about 5 weeks.

      In terms of %age income
      Contract 1: 56
      Contract 2: 25
      Contract 3: 19

Contracts 2 and 3 are roughly 1.5 x the rate of contract 1.

Contract 3 ends this year (but there's a possibility we might sell what we've done to other companies for more $$$ but little effort), 1 is expected to decrease slightly, 2 is expected to increase. I've got a fourth contract for the new year, but it's only a few days. However, I quoted x CHF and the contract arrived for €x instead, which is nice.

I have a yearly financial target. Once I've achieved that, anything above 200 days is a bonus - but I'm quite happy to take 60 days holiday if that's the way things turn out.

Are you saying it took your wife 15 days to teach you how to use the washing machine?

There were 253 working days in 2016.

I billed 254.5. Disappointing, because I thought I had billed more
