    The United Kingdom is finished.

I'd split up the country into:

The New Republic of Bremainier. No monarchy, part of EU. Euro currency.
Brexitland. Independent, Queen as head of state. The good old Pound.

Everyone is free to make the move over the next 2 years, and then the borders are forever sealed off. Make your choice and live with it.

If we have a huge deficit then that's because we have been mismanaged by Westminster. Time for a clean break. If we have to take our share of the debt then we get the same % share of the assets.
well it convinced the majority to vote to stay. Oh dear.

What did? That's a new story isn't it?

As I said, if we are as big an economic basket case as that story makes out then that is the fault of the people pulling our financial levers, namely Westminster.

We're not together, we are led by our bigger neighbour whether we like it or not by decisions they take. There's absolutely no reason why we can't be an independent nation like Norway, Iceland, etc.

There's not one country who has managed to get independence from the UK ever asked to join again. If we were independent today and you asked Scotland to join a union with England there would be no chance of it happening.
I'll repeat myself for clarity. You had a vote on the matter. It caused great distress for which Scotland hasn't recovered and Sturgeon is attempting to inflict further damage. Scottish Nationalists have a lot in common with Irish Republicans. Is this for the Scottish people as a whole or just 'club SNP'?

the voters that decided to remain in the UK made a conscious decision to do so. You sound so much like a Bremoaner. They didn't know what they were doing, they are too stupid to make a decision, their leaders lied to them it was CMD & Boris's fault WAHHHH they are a bunch of delete as appropriate Xenophobes/ little Englanders / racists / morons.

Where is the evidence of this great distress you talk of? It's for Scotland as a whole, the SNP are the major party of government and have the mandate for another referendum but the Yes movement as a whole is much, much wider.

Interesting Gordon Brown tells Scots: UK's single market worth far more than EU's

Exports to rest of UK are worth £48.5 billion compared with £11.6 billion to EU while 250,000 jobs are linked to the single market compared with one million linked to the UK market, he said.

Its not so much that Scotland hates the people of the UK, we obviously have friends from across the UK. What Scotland does in fact take exception to is not being able to run its own country how it sees fit by its own people. Anything that Scotland wants to happen within its country has to be accepted by Westminster which is a government establishment filled majorly with English people. If Scotland wishes to have another referendum then they should be allowed without the UK’s consent.

Reverse the above and now say it like this England would want something to happen however it would need to get passed through a majority Scottish Government. This isn’t about hatred, this is about Scotland being able to do what is best for Scotland, not the UK.

Another thing, if we are such a burden to the UK as suggested, why does the UK want to keep Scotland?
