      However in other European countries e.g. Austria they continued to do what the UK did until the 80s (though some places stopped it earlier) which is to tell parents to also give babies and young kids vitamin D as well.

      The NHS has a habit of presuming there are only a few cases of a disease that the disease has eradicated so they can stop preventative programs. They forget that the drop to a few cases are due to their programs and vigilance - TB is another example of this.
