Here's the thing, you don't have to marry a woman before you hump her.

Good thing he did not try to buy a Ferrari as they would have put down the phone once they heard him...

Ive just bought a Porsche so I guess I'm going to find out. Porsche in Stoke on Trent have been recommended. Porsche in Warrington are apparently rude and don't like to give exact costs.

Tried to rip me off big time on the first visit, luckily found great local specialist who were spot on all various problems (too many ffs!) and charge about the same as my PUG dealer.

I've found a good indy now, too. Merc will get the service just to keep the stamp and that's it. Trying to charge £100 to check headlight levels is taking the wotsit.

                      True.

I made the point of not living up to my car stereotype by driving up in my Alfa, instead I arrived in the wife's car.

The receptionist's first point was that I didn't have an appointment. It was a Saturday morning. There were 2 customers in the showroom and at least 5 salesmen sitting at their desks doing SFA.

Next, the pronunciation of Macan is not Macan, but MAKORWN, the idiot in me didn't spot the extra letters. (her exact words were "sorry sir, you need to pronounce it like this")
Hey, you know what, if I drop 60k on a car, I'm going to call it whatever the flip I want. Anyone with a basic understanding of English would understand what I mean, and if their marketing department wanted to make up a word, they should have thought about how people would say it.

And finally, she suggested I wait while she got a salesrunt over to show me the car. She called one on the phone and he told her to tell me to wait 10 minutes. I asked if it was OK to go look at the car while I waited, and as I walked away from her, the really busy salesman suddenly got up from his desk and walked over to her. She pointed at me, he looked at me then went back to his desk.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore
