Just received this from an agency that some regard as being a bit Crap.
Please find below an accumulation of questions that have featured on some of the many reptitive questions about SC. Maybe by putting them in a stickie and adding when we get new ones we can bat some of the drudgery off.
I have given canned answers from what I read on the forum but you know how...
Been out now for 3 months - 1 month was moving house and sat on my hole for the last 2. Usual story, Jobserved to death, and now dealing with the cretins.
Over the last month, nearly every agency has asked for two references before they will "put me forward". Now I didn't come down in the last...

Hello IT Contractors,
I shall be moving to Germany next month and spending 14 months on a contract.
I was reading up and apparently I need to fill out a P85 form and let the NHS know that I shall be moving etc?
Even though I shall still be maintaining a home here in the UK is there any...
Having read the leaflet I'm assuming this is a good idea because it seems not to do would harm you;re case with regards to IR35?
I have noticed an increase in squabbling and bickering in the Professional forums of late.
I am not amused.
I do not care who starts the squabbling. I will finish it by banning all participants. The more persistant the squabbling the longer the ban.
Feel free to disagree and correct but...
I have been contracting for a only few months now and in the beginning it took me a fair while to work out who to talk to and where to find information.
Below is just a rant on what I discovered and hopefully it helps any noivice contractors out there.

I am new to this and would like to set up my own limited company and would like some advice. As at moment I am paying a lot of money to Giant Powerhouse.
What kind of contract do you need to set up with the agency or does anyone have any examples of theirs which makes it fall outside the IR35....
This is my first post here on contractorUK, so please be gentle with me. Allow me to introduce myself. I've been a contractor for over 6 years now and have been through many agencies. And like many have had many bad experiences in the past and continue to hear many horror stories. My...
Just had a look at the contract between the client and agency...

Where I am working, there are a few contractors who have absolutely nothing to do. So they spend the whole day surfing the web. Now, if it were me I would feel slightly guilty about taking in excess of 40 Squid an hour for nothing.
When I was working on an hourly rate I made sure all...
I'm thinking of searching for "support work" that I can do while I am under my current contract (evening \ weekends etc.)
Does anyone do this currently, if so where do you find your work, directly through your contacts or via agency?
Good morning all, I've been reading up on the world of contracting, and would appreciate some advice to point me in the right direction at this early stage.
My partner (as in g/f) and I find ourselves in the position where we want to start contracting work on a daily rate basis. I will be IT...
Hello, I have just secured a 5 month contract as a PM. The agency has come back with a contract, I have amended most things, but this one stuck out:
Failure by the Consultancy to adhere to any term of this Agreement shall constitute a breach of contract and shall entitle the Employment Business...
Hello everyone, in the final throes of negotiating my contract to be re-written.
My query is should the term of "employment business" be used for the recruitment agency or should it be "Agency"???
I thought Agency sounded more correct....anyway have also engaged PCG..so will post response as...
I'm having second thoughts about continuing to run a ltd company just for me. My idea is a dozen contractors sharing an LLP and having our own tame recruitment person to find us work and carry coffe or anything else we order.
As far as I can see it should be the safest and most efficient approach...
I've just had a call/telephone interview from a http://www.spencergroup.co.uk/index.php rep, with a promising offer for next year - anyone know them, good/bad reputation etc?
If it borders on libel - PM it :)
I am looking at moving back to London in Feb and was wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers :help:
I have about 10 years IT experience, with about 5 as a BA/Consultant. I have worked in a variety of industries but have specialised in advertising, eCommerce and telecommunications. My...
I was offered an 8 week Contract by my present client. Towards the end of the 8 Week period, I was offered a role by another client, for 12 months.
I informed my existing client, and they were keen to keep me. They stated that ' we'll offer you the 12months to match your new client, if you'll...
I've just had a call from a agent at an XX agency, who was responding to an Jobserve application I made earlier today for a contract that probably doesn't exist (he was able to provide no details at all about the project other than the skillset).
In what seems to be an increasingly common...
Got a phone call out of the blue from Abraxas this morning and spoke to someone who told me about two roles and my availability. I declined one of them immediately because it was for a client who had asked me to engage in unethical behaviour late last year leading to a swift termination. I...
A friend has asked me to set him up an intranet on the weekends, but i am not to sure about the best way to get started.
Is dreamweaver 8 good for this?
I have to check this during my lunch hour, so please reply!
Earlier this month I was invited to my client's Christmas Party. Would attending this event draw me closer to IR35?
I was offered a 3 month contract by an agency which started in early November and is due to finish in early February 2007.
However, last week, a manager said my contract would not be renewed at the end of December to which my reaction was "My contract runs until early February 2007, what...
Anyone heard of these guys before?
They're an agency btw.
I sort of stumbled upon this site after trying to do a bit of research.
I actually work for an IT Recruitment company (DP Connect) sourcing .NET / BizTalk / SharePoint Developers and can honestly say I am shocked to hear of so many horror stories regarding agencies.
