Sounds like another one man band run from the bedroom, after all, all agents need is a phone.

Executive Net don't sound much better either!

Where can we get decent up to date credit references for these fly-by-nights? Are Equifax/Experian any use, or is there an industrial strength solution for businesses?

You again?!

Tis not true. Agents need a good DB, access to job boards, remote access to systems, blackberrys, expense account, extensive general credit line, new laptop kit, company car, company mobile, PA/secretary, resource team, back office accounts and admin team, factoring firm, news and media services, pheww.

Companies House should be your first point of contact for agency firms.

Do Companies House have any credit rating info more useful or up to date than the last submitted accounts, that by nature are going to be at least 9 months out of date?

After my recent/ongoing scare I'm certainly more wary about whether an agency has the ability to service my contract.

companies house say they've been around 6 years which doesnt sound too bad.

but given all this credit crunch and hearing about firms going out of business still makes me nervous.

Do Agents keep their own DB these days? Thought they just lifted CV's from the Job boards..................

Yep 400,000 on ours (no duplication either as we run an overnight dedupe program that merges candidate's new details with old details) and rising...
