You should have told him that you know quite a few contractors and that you will ensure that you would put the agency out of business if they don't desist with their threats.

I wouldn't worry.
He probably will be facing the sack by the end of next week for not getting enough business.

If they have 15 or more sister recruitment companies, they are S3. Beg and plead to get on their blacklist!

Why do so many agents call from witheld numbers? I don't like to answer them on principle - might be mad ex-in laws etc. - also it's annoying when you miss a call which might have been a lead on a contract and you can't get back to them.
Also why do they say 'I'll be putting your CV in and will send an e-mail to confirm it' - then there's no e-mail, so you've no idea what's going on .....until a week passes with nothing happening, of course!

Some office phone systems automatically withhold the number.
However dodgy agents take advantage of this.

They are trying to prevent you putting your CV through with another agency. Always ask the second agent to check whether your CV has been submitted.
