is this a good rate for Zurich ?

    Hi,

I'm in the running for a 1200chf/day role in Zurich, for 6 months.

I'll still be UK based, but living in a hotel and flying back at weekends to the UK every 3 or 4 weeks to see the family.

Can anyone with Zurich contract experience, tell me what the equivalent UK rate would be?

I'm sure someone mentioned doubling your UK rate for Swiss contracts, extra income tax in CHF and UK, cost of living ect. would this be correct?

back of an envelope figure is fine for now, i.e £500 day charge around 1300chf/day

    many thanks in advance

Remeber you'll almost certainly have to go local payroll/brolly and can only expense limited things, for example your flight in to start, and your flight out when you leave - not trips home.

For Zürich that is a good rate, just calculate your costs.

Budget your Hotel with 100-130 CHF per night (near the airport) and check the cost of flights.

Stek makes a good point on expenses only 1500 CHF per month can be offset against tax.

£18! That's how much mine cost. And £23 for fish and chips which was stupid, it was some weird Lake Constance fish not cod or owt.

My rule was if a Swiss hand made it - it was freaking expensive, some stuff in Migros and Coop was normal UK prices, like Leffe Blonde....

I bet you didn't even get a bit of pea wet for that.

You need more like CHF1800 for Zurich.

And as the pound continues to tank you will need more.....
