Time to get SC clearance for foreign

    Hi,

I have been in the UK for 3 years now and applied for a SC clearance after getting a job offer. The application was made from the NSVS portal. I was just wondering how long it usually takes for non-UK citizens?

    Thank you in advance!

No, you must have been resident in the U.K. for 5 years.

I've worked with people with less than 5 years in the UK who have SC.
If the applicant isn't likely to get it then the sponsor company aren't going to spend the money.

You should have a security officer or contact in their HR that should be handling your application. They are the best people to ask.

It rather depends where they were and what they were doing before they came to the UK though, doesn't it. SC is only a few hundred pounds to process, so that's not really a factor.
