      Prolonging tactics?
      1. Do the job better.
      2. Document it properly.
      3. Look for other areas where you can add benefit.

      But before you consider "tactics"...
      Learn how to be professional.
Think about how your client perceives you.
Stop focussing on money and focussing on delivery. The money is a result of the delivery of professional services.

If you can get away with wearing headphones - listen to some audio books while staring intensely at screens full of code and smiling for the camera.

        Ask for some days "WFH"

This. It could take some considerable time to do the documentation for 2 months of code, especially if none of it was done already.

I am sure I read somewhere that someone had converted lord of the rings to XML or JSON

                  Superb

I know someone who managed 25 years contracting here by doing something similar

                    The options are:

                    1) WFH
                    2) Wear big fairy wings so the cameras can't see your monitor
                    Taking a break from contracting

The only issue there is, if he has been sitting around doing sweet feck all, they may no longer trust him to be WFH.
