Agency payrun delay
How long should it take for money to hit my account (Cater Allen) from an agency payrun?
I thought the banks had speeded things up a few months back? If I transfer money to my wife's account it's there within a couple of hours so why am I still waiting 4 business days later??

Banks are introducing quicker payments but its not the big bang approach. Its being rolled out at different times by different banks.
You also need different account details apparently. My bank has told me about the faster payments but a credit card company have said I need to change the account sort code I use for internet banking if wanting to use the faster payment system.

The trouble is they don't provide any sort of remittance receipt so if there is a problem I don't know about it until a week later, I've asked them to provide this but they see it as an additional service and want to charge!
Some agencies think that their responsibility stops once they get you an interview, Morecombe bay cockle pickers get looked after better than me.

Phone them, and ask to speak to a supervisor. Tell him you have a missing payment and would like him to take ownership of the issue. Get him to initiate a search for the payment.
It took 2 weeks for Cater Allen to sort out a missing payment for me some time ago, primarily because I didn't know what to ask for.
Mine was stuck in a suspense account for no good reason.

It's called the UK banking system.

It's there now, I don't think it was Cater Allen’s fault, more like the dogs**t agency hanging onto the money for a few days longer than they say so they 'earn' the interest.
Honestly... I sent an email last night asking them to contact me about this as a mater of urgency and they still haven’t bothered, I really don't know why they take a cut... absolutely useless.
When I leave I will make sure I post their details so the good people on here will know to avoid.

If you make a payment from one "Big5" (RBS, LTSB, Barclays, CB/NW, HSBC) bank to another it should transfer immediately. If you use a smaller like Cater Allen for example, it'll take the standard 2-3 days.

If Cater Allen are owned by Abbey -> Santander aren't they bigger than any of the big 5 mentioned?
