Is it possible to make a pension payment to a personal/current account first whilst a decision is made as to where( in which pension wrapper and how) the money will be invested?

Why not just leave it in your business account until you make that decision, or is there something you're not telling us?

      No.

The money needs to go directly to the pension provider otherwise you are committing fraud with your accounts.
