    Default Mortgage broker recommendation?

There are brokers who specialise in mortgages for contractors. There are brokers who specialise in BTL mortgages.

But are there any who do both? BTL specialists who are simpatico to the contractor situation? If not can anyone recommend a generalist? Who do our property magnates recommend?

There's this wee flat on Edinburgh Grassmarket that has caught my eye as ripe for exploitation ...

Freelancer Financials have done a BTL for me and renewed it at the end of the term as well. Mine was with Birmingham Midhsires which is only available through brokers.

There are several of us who are able to assist with this including Freelancer Financials, Contractor Mortgages Made Easy, AMS. Lenders like BM are BTL specialists and contractor friendly, who, As Northern Lad said, are only available through brokers.

Probably best to call a few and see who you feel comfortable with

I went with contractor financials for a purchase and buy to let

Purchase with halifax was no problem but BM constantly messed me about - luckily all came together in the end

Could that be because the broker didn't get the right details from the start?

I've used Contractor Financials twice now and found them to be knowledgable and supportive. No connection etc, just a happy client.

I found Contractor Mortgages Made Easy a lot better in terms of materials and keeping you up to date. Getting Contractor Financials to even reply to emails seemed quite a job to me.

Very happy with the service I got from Ben @ Power Mortgages. He arranged our eventual mortgage with Coventry Building Society after about 6 months of house hunting!
