Just keep this in mind. There are some very good reasons to opt in. The main ones are guaranteed payment and the ability to ditch your agent at the end of the contract.

Firstly, PCG would like to emphasise that it is a contravention of the Act for any agency to require you to opt out of the Agency Regulations. It may also be illegal for them to pressure you to do so by threatening not to put forward your CV.
Yeah well thanks to the f*ckwits at the PCG they have handed a vehicle for the agents to coerce contractors to opt out.

It really makes no difference to the agents whether its illegal or not because everything is in their favour. You want a job and the only way your CV is going to be sent down is to opt out then thats what you are going to do. Do you really think the DTI are going to investigate and prosecute every agent that forces contractors to opt out?

You can withdraw this opt out by giving notice to the agency, in writing, at any time prior to starting work.
Yes, do this. Dont take any @#%$ if the agent comes up with excuses for the contract not being accepted now you have opted back in (also dont believe them if they say its a requirement of the client for you to opt out).
