Hi DR. Can I just clarify the above. Take for example 2001/2 and 64%. Does this mean that for the tax hmrc declare as owed in 2001/02 to date, the interest on that amount is times 64%?

Example sum owed £1000, interest owed would be 1000 x 64/100 ie £640?

Or does it mean the £1000 is subject to 64% interest in 2001/02, 57% in 2002/03 etc, etc?
I couldn't give two fornicators! Yes, really!

        CCW letter to HMRC

In the last newsletter we mentioned that our advisors CCW had written to HMRC outlining the technical argument.

That letter was sent a month ago.

We have chased HMRC. They say they are not yet in a position to respond and at the moment they can't provide any timescale for when they will be able to respond.

        Hmmm.

In red. Total including interest would be £1640.

            APNs

Any Montpelier users receiving APNs should forward them to:

            TQuinn AT montpeliergroup.com

            and copy DBull AT montpelier.im

Is that pay the APN then email Montp or email Montp and wait to see what they say before paying the APN?

It looks like we might have to fund a war chest then, so that George can go in to battle and slay the dragon.

In red. You've got 90 days to pay or make representations, so plenty of time.

Sorry to ask - but are you trolling?

To be clear - have nothing to do with HMRC except through Montpelier. They are liars, cheaters and scum. If you pay you will probably never see that money again.

The flight has been bumpy so far but time to fasten those seatbelts! Almost certainly oxygen masks will be deployed and some point. Lets just hope we dont have to use the emergency exits....

CCW have advised on what we need to do next if HMRC drag their heels or refuse to engage.

Can't say any more at the moment because I wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.
